GirlFRIENDS Ministry was born out of pain, perseverance, and prayer. It began during many sleepless nights filled with tears, confusion, and the desperate search for freedom from an abrasive and emotionally damaging relationship. In moments when cries seemed unanswered and help appeared nowhere in sight, a vision was forming—a ministry dedicated to helping others find the strength and support that once felt out of reach.
What started as a personal journey toward healing has become a lifeline for others. GirlFRIENDS Ministry exists to remind every individual that even in the darkest season, there is still a path to hope, healing, and victory.
GirlFRIENDS Ministry aims to bridge the gap between the road that leads to depression and the road that leads to victory. Sometimes the difference between the two is as simple as learning to stand up for one’s rights. Other times, it involves navigating the complex and painful process of overcoming an abusive or abrasive relationship.
Our ministry is designed to:

Tanella Marlett Davis was born in a small county in the Florida Panhandle and raised in a loving home by both parents, with strong support from her grandparents. Growing up alongside three siblings, she was filled with talent, promise, and ambition. She attended public school and embraced opportunities for success, including achieving one of her early goals—earning a place in the marching band as a flag girl. The long practices and demanding drills built resilience and discipline that would later serve her in ways she never imagined.
Despite early accomplishments, the first years of her marriage brought unexpected trauma and emotional hardship. Searching for love in the wrong places led to a painful downward spiral known as the “Girlfriends Blues”—a season marked by low self-esteem, diminished self-worth, unhealthy environments, and overwhelming emotional fatigue.
Yet through every trial, she survived by the grace of God and the prayers of those who believed in her when she struggled to believe in herself. Her healing journey transformed her pain into purpose.
Today, Tanella Marlett Davis shares her testimony with women and men near and far. Her story is not one of defeat, but of restoration. Through GirlFRIENDS Ministry, she empowers others to reclaim their identity, rediscover their strength, and walk confidently on the road to freedom.
GirlFRIENDS Ministry is more than a program—it is a movement of restoration. We believe:
If you or someone you know is facing abuse or emotional bondage, know that help is available. The journey may begin with a single step—but that step can lead to victory.
You are not alone. You are worthy. And your road to recovery starts today.
